In addition to attending classes and carrying out research, majors in the Physics Department at FSU participate in a number of other activities. These include regular meetings of the active and vibrant chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS), and attending annual SPS Zone Meetings with physics students from other institutions in Florida, as well as Georgia, Alabama and Puerto Rico. They also take part in outreach efforts to local elementary, middle and high schools, as well as to the general public.
